Want to sharpen your GI skills without committing to the full supervision series?

Most of what we’ve learned as GI dietitians didn’t come from a textbook or a course. It came from mentorship, presenting cases, asking questions, and working through complex patients with other dietitians.

That’s exactly what we’re bringing to GI Supervision.

For the past few years, we’ve run small-group GI dietitian supervision sessions focused on the real-world management of complex GI patients — including nutrition management, navigating complex diagnoses, and advocating for patients when it comes to testing, diagnosis, and treatment.

Join us for a single session

Not ready to commit to the full series? Drop in for an individual session whenever a topic or case is relevant to you.

Each session is a standalone, live 1-hour discussion. Topics will vary from session to session and may include everything from bile acid diarrhea and EoE to mast cell disorders, SIBO, IBD, and the intersection of complex GI conditions.

We don't follow a rigid curriculum. Instead, sessions are shaped by the cases and questions that come up within the group — so you’ll get the opportunity to hear clinical reasoning in action and learn from the challenges other GI dietitians are encountering in practice.

No need to have your own case to present. We’ll always have a case ready to bring to the group if there isn't a participant case to discuss.

How drop-in registration works

Drop-in registration opens ahead of each session. Register separately for each session you’d like to attend.

You’ll receive access to that week's live GI Supervision session — and you can decide session by session whether you’d like to join us again.

FAQ

What's in it for you?

  • Gain confidence and competence in case presentation and discussion - if you haven't had the opportunity to present cases in a rounds-style fashion before, I find this is a really great skill to learn so you're comfortable talking with doctors and other HCP's about GI cases. I find the more confident you are in case presentation, the easier it is to advocate for your patients where needed. Typically, any cases dietitians need support with will be presented at the beginning of each session, followed by suggestions on management from me, and of course the group is welcome to offer their expertise as well.**I will share my case presentation templates with you!
  • Nutrition Managements of Complex GI Patients - each groups learning wish-list has been different, however, popular topics include:
  • Nutrition management and medical advocacy for SIBO diagnosis & treatment
  • Eosinophilic esophagitis
  • Microscopic colitis
  • IBD (EEN, PEN, research update/discussion on dietary interventions, often end up chatting about emulsifiers too)
  • Functional dyspepsia
  • Bile Acid Diarrhea
  • IBS - how to manage when the Low FODMAP diet fails - nutrition considerations & other interventions

The session will be held over Google Meet. For drop-in participants, there will not be replays made available, as this option is specifically for those who want to attend a particular session live.

What is the cost of a drop-in session?

The investment for the each drop-in is $130 CAD.
